Sanriem Gateway Sanriem Town Home is where the heart is. And though, each year, I set out into the Miasma, I couldn't help but wait to get home. Through the hardships a lot about us has changed, but the thing that I could always count on, is getting home to my mother's smiling face. - Ellen Isen - Caravan of 1156 A town built on trade, this village is about 3,000 people, from all walks of life and tribes. The village regularly has visitors from the Tipa penensula, who's caravan travels through Sanriem on a tri- yearly basis, usually being in town when the Sanriem caravan is about to depart. Merchants from Tipa also frequent Sanriem, and a friendly rivalry usually starts between their caravans every few years. Sanriem has an operational dock, and craftsmen for almost anything you could want. Its location makes it a gateway from the east to the west as well. The Sanriem caravans have a proud history of being among the best in all the lands, utilizing the talents of all the tribes to the greatest extent. Sanriem Gateway is in a temperate zone, and thus recieves its fair share of cold weather durring the winter months and warm weather durring the summer months. It *does* get cold enough to snow, but just barely durring Bahamut and Shiva, occassionally spilling into the two other adjacent months (Fenrir and Titan). Selbina Beach To the sea! That's what my father always told me. But on the sandy beaches is where I found it. The waves rolled endlessly to the sand to escape the sea, only to become one with the sea again when it rolled back. And it made me wonder if we are doing the same, if we are trying to escape a destiny that will consume us, only to bring the same about again. - Llewellyn Holindel - Caravan of 750 Selbina Beach is the most common testing grounds for caravans out of Sanriem. The grains of sand are smooth and white, and a small cliff-face lies just past the sandy shores. The road passes to the north of the beach, with an off-shoot entering one of the caves that litter and catacomb the beach. One of them harbors a passageway to a small alcove which contains a tree and its guardian: A serpant knicknamed Nessy. Gernon Downs The roll'd hills dance with the moon's light and the wind plays tricks with my fur. Hard to believe the time was right, To place the earth's embrace in a blur. With a skip and a step we move evading the darkness turn. Where should I step next? I guess soon we shall know. The sun breaks over the 'orizon makes the hills sing with a gold color Next time time we'll get it, eh' Izen? That liquid that is held in great lore. - Mog - Caravan of 1353 Gernon Down is a strange place, held with a mild amount of lore and facination. Durring the day, its hills are bright and calming to behold, but under the light of a full-moon, the hills have a much darker secret. Every caravan experiences something different, but all agree that the challenges awaiting here are something to remember and cherish. The Myrr tree here only appears at night in the light of a full moon.
